Today, the auto industry is one of the largest markets for rubber products. And HEXPOL Compounding is the leading supplier of compounded elastomer solutions for the auto industry. The HEXPOL team has a wide range of mixing and custom development solutions to help our automotive customers drive innovation and increase market share. Leveraging our global presence as a worldwide market leader, we provide customers with the resources of an International Corporation and the responsiveness of a small and agile local company.
With increasing investments flowinginto the automotive industry in Mexico, how does HEXPOL Compounding participate in the development of this market?
For years the automotive industry in Mexico has fought to strengthen the local supply chain being able to offer high quality products with a high level of sophistication. The rubber compound is a perishable product very sensitive to diverse variables coming into play at our Customers processes and thus it is key to count with a strategic partner such as HEXPOL with the right expertise, technical support and value proposition for the long term. What other markets HEXPOL foresees with growth potential in Mexico?
HEXPOL does not participate exclusively in the Auto industry. Our Operations around the World offer solutions for industries such as oil & gas, aerospace, consumer goods (for example shoes), construction, rolls (for printing for example), etc. All of these markets have great growth potential in Mexico. First because the internal markets in Mexico are going to grow within the next decade and second because as it has been happening with the auto industry where the manufacturing in Mexico has become a World power, the aerospace industry is developing quickly and legal reforms such as the energy reform could boom the development of industries such as oil and gas exploration.
On the other hand HEXPOL has leading technology products such as engineering plastics (TPEs) which in summary are plastics that behave like rubber. Manufacturing for TPEs is currently done in Europe. ELASTO and Müller Kunststoffe are two of our HEXPOL Compounding Companies which provide an important range of patented products to offer. There have been business opportunities in which HEXPOL has started participation in North America and Mexico. The potential for these materials is tremendous. These are materials with applications in the auto industry, medical industries and consumer goods in general. Some of these industries have had more progress than others in the use of these type of materials but I think it is a matter of time that the benefits these materials offer will be incorporated into our daily lives.
